Senior Sales Engineer (Photonics)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our rapidly expanding advanced photonics design and manufacturing company needs the skills and drive of a Senior Sales Engineer who is looking to further their career at one of Silicon Valley’s most exciting companies to work at. The successful candidate will take the technical helm on designing and specifying both standard and custom photonic solutions for multiple clients in exciting industries such as Telecom, Autonomous Vehicles, and Medical Devices.

The candidate will be a key client resource and point of contact while reporting to and working closely with the of VPs of Sales and Engineering. The position is based out of our Headquarters in Santa Clara.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Guard ACP by maintaining the confidentiality of information.

  • Drive results, focusing on accountability to performance metrics, and value drivers.
  • Provide oversight of day-to-day tasks. Ensure that work is completed according to established schedules.
  • Evaluate client requirements / specification and understand their objectives; work with internal engineering dept and external supply chain to determine optimum solutions and present such solutions.
  • Develop technical presentations, blogs, whitepapers, and reference architectures for sales and prospective clients.

Our requirements (to be considered you must have):

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited organization, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least three years’ experience within a technical engineering role within either Telecom, Automotive, Medical, or Industrial verticals.

Critical success factors (we’ll give strong preference to those who have):

  • An advanced degree in engineering or physics
  • Previous work experience:
    • In technical sales, engineering project management, or direct customer-interactive technical support for engineered products.
    • In writing, developing, and presenting technical content for both internal and external stakeholder.
    • Designing novel products across the Photonics spectrum of products.
  • A past history of success:
    • Managing complex projects across multi-functioning teams with aggressive deadlines and completing them on-time and within budget.
    • Solving client challenges through utilizing independent problem solving skills.
